Although we are so far off our mark of 100,000 pounds being pledged for 2010, that our mark will never be made now, we would like to acknowledge those 32 individuals who have pledged 686 pounds towards better health.

…update for November 15, 2010
44 motivated weight conscious participants have taken the simple weight loss pledge. Kudos to them! 951 pounds have been pledged at an average of 22 pounds. So, breaking 1,000 pounds is a reachable goal for the Fit Fat Loss Event.
Had everyone who saw the pledge participated, we would be sitting at 8,778 pounds based upon the average weight loss goal; had all of the Fit Fat Loss Event visitors taken the poll, it would be a whopping 19,074 pounds.
Factor in the main site, Fit Fat Loss itself, and the top number for pounds pledged to lose in 2010 so far would have been 128,656 pounds — that would have been incredible! Unrealistic given the number of visitors to the site, but incredible!
20 pounds is still the most common goal, with 25 pounds a close second. Together, those goals account for 48% of the individuals wanting to lose weight.
It turns out that only 5% of the individuals who found out about about Fit Fat Loss Event site moved on to take the pledge. But still, we are glad to have them take that ever-so-small first step in a healthy weight loss by doing so.
This has given us a very good idea of the effort we will have to put in for 2011 as the new year starts a new pledge of losing 100,000 pounds of fat.
